Building a new resource
At THATCamp 2009, several people expressed interest in building a web resource where users could upload syllabi, assignments, rubrics, and exercises and where users could share links and engage in discussions about teaching.
If you’d like an account to help build this resource, please contact me:
I created a poll asking which platform should be used, and WordPress was chosen by most. If you’d like to weigh in on the issue, the poll is still open. Nothing at this point is set in stone:
So I’ve set up an installation of WP (you’re looking at it), but also an installation of Omeka, which is well-suited to handle an archive of course materials:
It shouldn’t be too difficult eventually to skin both the WordPress and Omeka installations the same way.
As I write this, it appears that everyone’s still decompressing from THATCamp and getting back into the routine of their lives. As the summer progresses, however, let’s work on building this site into what we want it to be. I’ll be offline for a few days but will return to all things Internet this coming Saturday.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and enthusiasm!
